Cortado is officially in business
We're incorporated, our first café is onboarding, and we made a twenty-second film to say what Cortado does.

I've wanted to write this sentence for months: Cortado is officially in business.
On October 8, California approved Cortado Services as a corporation. This month we also started onboarding our first café. We brought in their stock list, their menu and their suppliers, and set Cortado up behind their counter. More shops come next.
Why we built it
Most owners I've met didn't open a coffee shop to do paperwork. They opened it for the coffee and the regulars. Then the back office piled on:
- Counting stock every Monday
- Placing the supplier order at 5 pm, when you're already tired
- Writing up the waste log at close
- Checking the sales reports every night
- Building next week's schedule on Sunday
Cortado takes that pile off the owner's plate. Staff scan a label to count stock. Every sale from the register takes its milk and beans off the shelf. Waste is priced at what you paid for it. The order list builds itself, grouped by supplier, and the schedule is built from your busy hours and syncs to everyone's calendar.
Cortado is Spanish for “cut.” We cut the costs and the hours that keep owners off the bar. We never cut the craft.
Our first film
To mark the launch, we made our first short film. It's called “Off the Wall” and it runs for twenty seconds. The back office piles up one block at a time until a single line cuts through it, and then it's back to the coffee. The music is “Cut,” an original track written for the film, and the beat drops on the cut.
We made it ourselves, start to finish, with Claude Design.
What happens next
We're onboarding shops one at a time, and we set each one up with the owner. The first step is always the same: we pull in what you already have, like your register's sales, your supplier invoices and your menu, so nobody has to type it all in again.
Counting your stock is free, forever. Everything else is $79 a month per location, with 21 days free and no card. See pricing.
If you run an independent coffee, boba or matcha shop and want to be one of the first, book a walkthrough or email me at sen@cortado.services. I read every message.
